These industry-leading instruments have been engineered to enhance sensor response, significantly reducing sample results to 50 seconds or less and includes automatic baseline leveling once the analysis is complete which ensures that the previous patient sample has been fully exhausted from the instrument and the internal components have returned to their baseline standard. Every instrument utilizes long-life, solid-state gas detection sensors which will never need regular replacement unlike other breath-testing devices that use electrochemical (fuel sensors), which operate somewhat like a battery, making it difficult for the technician to determine when the instrument's reliability will deplete. These factors, coupled with a full 3-year parts and labor warranty, ensure successful breath testing for years to come. With all breath tests, you may encounter sample contamination which may come from various sources such as: unsupervised or improper collection, patients that are unable to follow directions (typically seen with pediatrics and elderly patients), variations in ventilation such as patients taking a large inspiration in the early samples of a test and more normal ones later in the test. Being able to detect and correct these samples utilizing CO2 smoothes out these collection inconsistencies resulting in more realistic patterns of gas production. |
